World’s Toughest Podcast

Welcome to the World’s Toughest Podcast, where we talk about any Obstacle Course Race you’d like, as long as it's World’s Toughest Mudder. Each week we talk to members of the WTM Community and share stories of success and failure in the single greatest event in OCR. We are the Number One rated Obstacle Course Racing podcast in the world according to Apple Podcasts and Amazon.com. Thank you. The Worlds Toughest Podcast is a production of Contender Media and is not affiliated with Tough Mudder or TMHQ. Opinions expressed are those of the host and guest and are not necessarily the opinions of Tough Mudder. But they might be.

Amelia Boone is the only woman to win World's Toughest Mudder three times. No other woman has won more than once.

After being unable to compete in 2016 due to a leg injury, Amelia has been training this year to run 100 miles and become the first woman to win the coveted 100-Mile Orange Jacket.

Last month Amelia suffered an injury at a race. She saw her doctor recently who gave her bad news about competing at WTM 2017. We talk about what the doctor said and how Amelia is approaching the race this year.

Molly Kenneth and Jason Nicholson join us today to talk about Jason’s story from World’s Toughest Mudder 2016. Jason ran 65 miles at WTM 2016, and finished on his feet, but due to a number of mistakes he made, he was in a Las Vegas hospital two days later. Every wrong thing he did is completely preventable, from over hydration to taking pain medication during an ultra-endurance event. We talk about how you can make sure you don’t end up in a hospital bed for a week like Jason.

Tougher Mudder East Regional Race preview episode with Grant Polson

Grant Polson joins us to talk about his story with Tough Mudder. Grant shares several stories including his love for Electroshock Therapy. Every time he goes through EST he tries to do something different, like playing with the wires for Pokemon EST. “Gotta Touch ‘em All!” At Tough Mudder NorCal Grant plans to help 100 Mudders through Electroshock Therapy.

Tough Mudder NorCal will be Grant’s first Tough Mudder as a married man, as he is getting married this weekend. Congratulations Grant, and welcome to the family Coral.

Grant also talks about his personal story. He was born without his left hand, so obstacles like Funky Monkey and Kong pose a unique challenge for him. Grant talks about how he completes obstacles with one hand. He also talks about the Adaptive Athlete OCR Facebook group. For more information on the group or to request an invitation, send Grant a direct message on Facebook.
